We are proud to host Anna King Ivy. She is a local poet and educator who will be reading from her newly published into the leftover blue. It is 1918, just at the end of World War 1, and five percent of the world's population perished from influenza, which has spread without mercy on a war ravaged planet. upward of 100 million lives were lost to this epidemic, but due to the psychological toll from the war to end all wars, the virus has relatively minor significance in our collective history.
Anna King Ivey examines the legacy of this forgotten pandemic as a means of reconciling the grief of a deceased parent. It reminds us time is often the only remedy for catastrophe, no matter the scale.
Come join us as she reads from this touching and tragic work and have the opportunity to meet her and purchase a signed copy of this beautiful collection.
The book is published by Another New Calligraphy, 64 pages, handmade and numbered, $16.
